Pat and Mat are shortened forms of Czech expressions Patlal and Matlal, which can roughly be translated as Clumsy and Awkward. The characters themselves were nameless until 1989, when they were given the names Pat and Mat. However, when production of episodes started for ČST Bratislava, a Slovak name was required, and the crew eventually settled for. The original name of the series was Kuťáci ( The Tinkers). As of 2021, 129 episodes of the show have been released, and it has been syndicated in a large number of countries due to its lack of dialogue (except in the Dutch version, which is dubbed). The main characters of the series are two handymen, Pat and Mat, who are inventive, but extremely clumsy. The characters first appeared in the theatrically released short Kuťáci ( Tinkers) in 1976, while the first made-for-TV episode Tapety ( Wallpaper) was produced for ČST Bratislava three years later. Pat & Mat ( Czech and Slovak: Pat a Mat) is a Czechoslovak slapstick stop-motion animated series created by Lubomír Beneš and Vladimír Jiránek. If you want a shot of your child or dog in front of the tree, set the exposure and then focus on your baby (the subject) with the lights in the background, then the lights will be blurred.Īll of these images were shot at: ISO 400 f/2.2 1/60.Once you have the base set, you can play around with the size of the bokeh by manually adjusting your lens focus. This is how I got the shots of the tree lights blurred. Then, point your camera back at the tree, the lights should be blurry now. Once you have your exposure set, automatically adjust your focus on an item that is FURTHER away from you than your tree is.I would shoot with your aperture around 2.2 to get that yummy bokeh! Try to keep your ISO under 500 to avoid excessive grain and try to keep your shutter speed in the double digits to avoid excessive blur.
